In the music of the ZiOM Orchestra, the delicate timbre of mandolins blends with double bass, vibraphone, trumpet, clarinet, piano, and percussion. This unique instrumentation creates a singular, truly original soundscape with a distinctly cinematic quality, while honoring the Lower Silesian tradition of mandolin playing – a heritage brought to the region after World War II by resettlers from the Eastern Borderlands (Kresy Wschodnie) and now nearly forgotten.

The ensemble breathes new life into these traditions, carrying them forward within a contemporary artistic context through an original approach to composition and arrangement. All pieces performed by the orchestra are composed by Dariusz Dżugan (Ju Ghan), founder of the ensemble and the architect of its signature sound.
